Explorer Pro Purifier
The Katadyn Explorer Pro does one thing: it delivers safe, clean drinking water wherever you need it. Take it deep into the backcountry, on a long expedition, or into the field. It runs a three-stage modular system – ceramic microfiltration, activated carbon, and optional virus removal. As a result, you control which stages you use and how much protection you need.
The ceramic filter handles turbid, heavily contaminated water with ease. In addition, unlike hollow fibre membranes, you can clean and reuse it across multiple trips.
The activated carbon stage removes chlorine and odors. So instead of just safe water, you get genuinely great-tasting water. Add the PRO module hollow fibre 0.01 μm virus membrane when you need virus protection. Leave it out when you don’t. No other filter at this level gives you that flexibility.
A metal pump piston forms the core of the Explorer Pro. Because of this, it handles frequent, demanding use in harsh conditions. All filter stages store dry between trips. As a result, there is no mold risk and no preparation needed – just pack it and go. Katadyn manufactures the Explorer Pro in-house in Switzerland, with strict quality control at every stage.
